Luxury Vinyl Tiles

Associated Weavers Step Into The LVT Market

What's all the fuss about? Well, due to the rising popularity of Luxury Vinyl Flooring  in the U.K. market, Associated Weavers have just launched a brand new collection of LVT products under their Invictus brand name to compliment the Invictus carpet ranges . The Invictus LVT collection is made up of three different product lines - Optimus, Maximus and Maximus Click. So, what's the difference between these ranges? What guarantees and warranties do they offer? When are they available to purchase?

What's the difference?

Invictus Primus LVT is Associated Weavers' entry level offering and comes equipped with a modest 0.3mm wear layer (that's the bit on the very top that takes the brunt of the traffic). This might not seem like an awful lot but it's certainly nothing to be scoffed at, especially when considering this product still carries a hefty 20 year residential usage guarantee! Primus comes as a dryback tile which means that you need to glue it down to the subfloor when installing - the standard installation method for LVT flooring.

Invictus Maximus LVT is the big brother to Optimus and steps things up considerably with an impressive 0.55mm wear layer & 25 year residential guarantee. What's more is that this product range is also suitable for use in commercial environments, backed by a considerable 15 year warranty when installed in a commercial area. Maximus has a broader offering of designs than its sibling product, making it a more flexible option for those who "Like the oak plank but wish it was a touch less brown." - you know who you are. Some other key features that Optimus is missing would be the bevelled edges and "Embossed in Register" surface layer, which means that the textured surface matches the natural features of the print layer below, providing a much more authentic look and feel. Like Optimus, Maximus is also a dryback LVT and requires adhesive to install.

Invictus Maximus Click LVT is, in specification terms, a twin to the dryback version. The difference? Well... it has a click system! Maximus Click boasts the same wear layer and guarantee stats as the sister product but comes in a convenient click system plank, which simply locks together without the need for adhesive. Maximus Click also comes with an integrated sound reducing underlay on the bottom of each tile, which means that you don't need to purchase any accessories to get this flooring installed. Click LVT tiles are typically a little thicker than dryback tiles to accommodate the locking system and for additional rigidity, which reduces movement and prevents bowing.

There's also an awful lot of interesting stuff that these three have in common:

  • ScratchGuard PUR surface treatment which resists abrasion, is more hygienic and really easy to clean.
  • 100% matching scotia, so whichever colour you opt for you can get a perfect match.
  • Wide range of Wood, Stone and Abstract tile designs.
  • Waterproof and safe to use in wet rooms such as the kitchen and bathroom.
  • Safe for use with underfloor heating systems.
  • Castor chair friendly.
  • High level of sound reduction, Associated Weavers claim that all 3 ranges are "Silent Underfoot".
  • Eco friendly, Pthalate-free formula.
  • Perfect for those with pets and children.
  • A+ VOC emissions rating.
